From the time she was a small child, Bianca marveled that “Electricity was magic.” She grew to understand and respect it thanks to her father, an electrician, which put her on the path to electrical engineering. “Engineering is a technical skill, but also a responsibility,” she says. “Public safety is always first and it is a responsibility I am privileged to carry.” Even after designing many electrical applications, a bit of the magic remains for Bianca, too. “Each project has its own personality,” she notes. “I love working on those detailed moments—a feature wall, a staircase, a generator scheme—that make a project unique, often complicated, and that everyone focuses on to get just right.” Bianca’s interest in photography was passed on from her grandmother. “My Nana would take candid photos of everything,” she explains. “Time moves so quickly, it is special to have those photos when you need the memories the most.”
