HEALTH

Healthcare architecture is at a transformative crossroads, driven by rising demand, site of care shifts, consumer preferences, and rapid technological advancements. These changes are reshaping healthcare delivery, demanding a reimagining of the physical environment to support new models of care. SmithGroup’s interdisciplinary health specialists create breakthrough buildings that not only support quality healthcare but redefine it: using design as a catalyst for improving operations at every scale and enhancing the patient experience in thoroughly human settings.

The building speaks for itself, but SmithGroup deserves a tremendous amount of gratitude for their dedication to helping make something that is truly unique and inspirational. They didn't just help create a building—they're creating hope.

The Power of AR & VR in Healthcare Design

A large part of the design process for any healthcare facility is examining how the space will function for its clinicians. While healthcare planners have developed numerous methods for road-testing design with clinical care teams and support service members, augment reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are emerging as a must-have tool for the design process of any new healthcare facility. At SmithGroup, our team of healthcare planners, architects and engineers collaborate with our team of design strategists to develop cutting-edge mixed reality tools that immerse users in the design of future spaces, enabling better feedback from stakeholders about how the proposed design will impact their operations and workflows.
