Initially conceived as a three-story project, the facility expanded to twice that size by the final design. The 15-foot floor-to-floor flat slab concrete structure allowed for vaulted ceilings throughout. As a result, the researchers enjoy floods of natural daylight within the laboratories, one of the many energy-saving measures that the client and community consider vital. Combining layouts that facilitate collaboration among multiple tenants with open stairs that connect clustered work areas, TGen offers an inspirational environment for participants in genetic sciences eager to learn from their peers.
