Vance Nall

With more than 25 years of experience planning and designing district energy systems, Vance is a part of the firm's climate-impact leadership team. "District energy," he explains, provides power at the highest possible efficiency, reliability and resiliency. "Aggregating loads and serving them at a district scale enables large-scale transitions to new technologies and opportunities to reduce consumption,” Vance notes. “Developing these clean, efficient energy systems is the most impactful work we can do” in fulfilling  the firm’s mission to Design a Better Future. Ever the mechanical engineer, Vance says he’d like to tour the engineering and architectural marvels of Rome, and would time travel to join NASA in 1960s, “a fantastic era of engineering achievement that has few parallels,” he suggests. For now, there’s a ski boat calling for his attention. “Not only do I enjoy waterskiing and family time on the lake, I have a side job of keeping my older boat running.”
