Cathy Pack

It’s probably safe to say Cathy took an unprecedented route to her SmithGroup career. As a university student majoring in ancient Greek, she was working at an archeological site in Turkey when a 7.6 earthquake hit. “I saw the aftermath - people living in highway intersections to be away from dangerous buildings,” she recalls. “It cemented my path toward architecture.” Today, Cathy delights in delivering projects with high-performing inclusive teams.  "Team health has become my mantra, and to achieve that it takes a combination of hard and soft skills.  Each project is an exhilarating opportunity to be part of a great team."  She has a particular passion for higher ed projects “where student success is the guiding light.” Weekends find Cathy in her Portland, Oregon yard, where she is on a mission to decolonize the invasive plants and restore it to a native habitat.
