The Biltmore neighborhood is a prestigious address along Phoenix’s Camelback Road corridor. When new owners purchased this eight-story office tower with views of iconic Camelback Mountain and surrounding peaks, it identified the need for a more eye-catching entry and more modern public spaces.

Through materials, patterns and sightlines, the improvements bring a fresh aesthetic and striking first impression to the building’s ground floor.

A large overhang establishes a bold, intuitive entry large enough to accommodate outdoor seating; the Trespa high pressure laminate panel and ACM metal fascia clad overhang structure was carefully designed to appear that it pierces through the glass and continues into the lobby, connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces.

An underutilized courtyard becomes a new focal point. To increase the view to the outside, a structured glazing system replaces storefront glass for unobstructed views from the lobby; a lower exterior wall also offers eye-level sightlines from the street. Wood beams and custom planters strengthen the indoor-outdoor connection.

Bright white walls and black glass interplay as positive and negative space for a contemporary tone, accented by backlit graphics, colorful commissioned paintings and an existing Fiore del Pesco marble floor.
