Megan Skaalen

Megan approaches interior design “with the lens and spirit of an artist,” she says. “Connecting business to the creative is energizing. Developing client relationships and designing the built environment has brought joy I never would have imagined.” Megan’s schooling helped crystalize her attraction to artistic pursuits. “As a kid formulas and equations were never my thing, but oh, how I loved geometry and playing with shapes, space and color,” she recalls. At SmithGroup, she discovered a way to merge her “love of creation with a need to work alongside other creatives.” Megan’s pursuits outside the workday are imaginative, too: “I love skydiving, bungee jumping, canyoning, whitewater rafting…anything that gets the heart racing but the most adventurous is being the mom of two boys,” she reports.
