The California High-Speed Rail Authority is embarking on a multi-year planning effort for Station Delivery Support and Technical Planning Services related to the delivery of the state’s high-speed rail program. SmithGroup along with a comprehensive team of planning, engineering, real estate and community outreach consultants including Fehr & Peers, Toole Design, and HR&A has been contracted to support the Authority through technical program and planning expertise.
Working closely with local communities and the Authority, the Station Delivery Support and Technical Planning Services team will provide architectural design support to assist station delivery in the Central Valley, real estate and market analysis support to enhance a transit-oriented development station program, and urban design and planning to communicate station context and establish system-wide transit-oriented development guidelines. In addition, this extensive program will entail transit planning, traffic analysis, and transportation planning to support station delivery and station-area planning, support in administrating land use reviews, planning modeling and GIS services for land use and transportation mapping, and working with local jurisdictions on complex station and station area issues and concerns.
