Pia Sachleben
Pia’s work translates brands into physical spaces, often through experiential graphics, wayfinding and placemaking. “We create connections between people and places, leaving them with memorable experiences and a sense of belonging,” she explains. It’s a niche Pia discovered as a graphic designer for a boutique architectural firm, where she “fell in love with both built spaces and the spaces in between,” she says. “My canvas is always different.” Pia possesses an enviable ability—“unafraid to try new things, even if it means not being great at them right away,” as she puts it. It’s how she learned to skateboard much later in her adult life; and her insatiable curiosity continues to evolve her design sensibility. She gets her moxie from her mother whom she emigrated with from Manila. “She started over in the States at age 50 despite her fears. Her perseverance taught me it’s never too late to change your fate. You just have to try.”
