Brian Noonan
Brian readily acknowledges and appreciates the lasting impact of engineering work. "Engineering the built environment helps to shape the next 50 years of sustainable design," he notes. "Maintaining the creature comforts we have been blessed with, overlayed with an ever-increasing demand to reduce our impact on the climate, create a unique challenge." Brian rises to that challenge, drawing inspiration from some unexpected places, such as an 1880s limestone barn on the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in Kansas. Key innovations like natural ventilation and fire prevention components, he suggests, "were driven by necessity and show how ingenuity improves the built environment." Brian enjoys quiet time out in the natural world cycling, especially tackling singletrack trails on his mountain bike.
